Key Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established standards.
- Conduct health assessments through patient interviews regarding their medical history.
- Identify patient and family needs, providing educational resources and support.
- Offer psychosocial support to patients and their families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and enhance patient care.
- Manage medication refill requests and document accordingly.
- Coordinate consultations, diagnostic tests, and future appointments.
- Triaging patient inquiries and documenting relevant information.
- Promote communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist patients in accessing community resources.
- Collaborate with LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience in oncology nursing is highly preferred.
- A current RN state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions
The work environment may include exposure to various health risks typical of an oncology clinic.
Physical demands include the ability to handle and lift patients, maintain manual dexterity, and stand or walk for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
