About the Role

Endless Horizons is seeking a Career Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in guiding and supporting prospective students as they embark on their career journey.

About the Job

We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication skills, able to effectively interact with students, schools, and community organizations to promote the Job Corps program. Your primary responsibilities will include determining eligibility, conducting screenings, and providing career-based counseling to ensure students receive the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with established safety, security, quality, and operations policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing outreach/public education plans to achieve design capacity and describe public education methods, activities, events, and linkages.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, social service agencies, Youth Opportunity Grantees, One-Stop centers, youth councils, and other employment and training programs to promote referral of eligible applicants.
  • Establish partnerships with One-Stop centers, state and local workforce investment boards, and other local employment and training programs for youth.
  • Conduct outreach, recruitment, admission requirement determination, and admissions functions.
  • Assess, verify, and document applicant eligibility for the Job Corps program, ensuring all applicants meet essential admission requirements prior to assignment.
  • Ensure background checks are conducted on each applicant and that documents are obtained to verify eligibility.
  • Encourage applicants to provide health information and forward it to assigned centers for review.
  • Ensure application folders are complete upon arrival at the center and assist in assembling original documents.
  • Notify denied applicants and provide referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Recommend assignment of eligible applicants to available training slots based on contract goals, center needs, and applicant interest.
  • Project arrival needs, issue arrival orders, and schedule timely assignments to maintain GAP centers at capacity.
  • Ensure students are notified of their assignment date and depart safely as scheduled.
  • Provide travel packets, including itinerary, tickets, meal money, emergency phone numbers, and guidance on acceptable behavior.
  • Request signed releases for photographic likeness or moving images.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have two years of related experience and either a bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or a closely related field, or an associate's degree with two years of related experience. A valid State Driver's License is also required.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
