Job Summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide high-quality mental health services to a diverse patient population, with a special commitment to the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental illness, emotional disorders, and/or substance abuse.
  • Examine patients to determine the presence of physical disease, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, and medical history.
  • Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, communicating with providers, physicians, case managers, scheduling staff, referring providers, and outside agencies.
  • Coordinate and link psychiatric treatment plans with FHCSD therapy, case management, primary care, and community support systems.
Requirements
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
  • DEA license.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of medicine, completion of a 3-year residency in General Psychiatry, or current status as a 3rd-year resident in a General Psychiatry program.
  • Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year experience working in Psychiatry, with experience with underserved, low-income persons, or homeless persons preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
Working Conditions

The Psychiatrist will work in a fast-paced, team-based environment, with a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $280,000.00 - $336,500.00, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.
