We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanic to join our team at the Broome County Department of Public Transportation. As a Senior Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing or rebuilding diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, hydraulics, automotive electrical systems, air conditioning, and brakes.
Key Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and repair or rebuild diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, hydraulics, automotive electrical systems, air conditioning, and brakes.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and have a working knowledge of tools and terminology.
- Work well with others and understand their critical role in providing outstanding public transportation to our customers.
- Obtain a CDL and meet all necessary safety requirements.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to work under deadlines.
- Ability to follow instructions (written/oral) and work as a team player.
- Pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test and undergo a medical exam.
- Must be able to obtain a CDL and have a reliable vehicle for work.
