Position Overview

We are in search of dedicated and energetic Healthcare Support Specialists to assist in delivering exceptional patient care.

About Us: Aspire Dermatology is a reputable provider of comprehensive dermatological services, including skin assessments, cosmetic treatments, and specialized surgical procedures. The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role, performing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure outstanding patient care while collaborating with the Office Supervisor.

Work Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours.

Compensation: $22.00 per hour, contingent upon qualifications, certifications, and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily operations, including verifying patient details, documenting medical histories, and confirming the purpose of visits using electronic devices.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring proper sterilization of equipment and providing educational support on pre- and post-care instructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of clinical spaces and instruments as required.
  • Manage inventory and supplies for clinical areas efficiently.
  • Handle routine phone inquiries from patients, pharmacies, and referring healthcare providers.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Understand patient demographics, verify insurance, manage prior authorizations, and collect payments accurately.
  • Input lab results, communicate with patients, and address inquiries regarding medications and lab outcomes using electronic medical record systems.
  • Demonstrate versatility by applying skills across various areas of medical practice and effectively using different software applications.
  • Be available to commute to various Aspire locations as needed and participate in a rotation across multiple offices.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Medical Assisting Program or relevant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) OR at least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT/ICD 10 coding.
  • Mandatory vaccinations for Influenza and COVID-19.
  • Strong computer skills and customer service orientation.
  • Typing proficiency of 40 WPM with attention to spelling and grammar.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt skills across different medical practice areas.
  • Ability to comprehend and implement policies, procedures, and protocols effectively.
  • Professional interaction with patients, providers, supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Capability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
