Role Summary:
DePelchin Children's Center is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in the Fort Bend area. This role is ideal for recent graduates eager to gain extensive experience working with youth aged 3-17 and their families within the Family and Youth Success (FAYS) Program. The counselors in this initiative will actively engage families by imparting essential coping and social skills, assisting youth with mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression, and providing general support as they navigate various life situations.
This position offers a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in private practice. The FAYS program emphasizes strong documentation practices and is committed to equipping all team members with the confidence needed in their clinical abilities. Counselors may also have access to complimentary in-house clinical supervision for those seeking to obtain their clinical license. Our program fosters a collaborative team environment that promotes continuous learning and professional growth.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field in Human Services.
- Fully licensed as an LMSW; or
- Provisionally licensed as an LMFT-Associate; or LPC-Associate; or
- Passed the licensure examination to obtain LMSW, LMFT-Associate, or LPC-Associate.
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining full/provisional licensure within a specified timeframe after hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish; proficiency in English is required.
- At least one year of experience in case management, crisis intervention, or child welfare.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of crisis intervention techniques and recognized therapy and counseling methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant clinical knowledge and skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capacity to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Aptitude for resolving complex family-related issues.
- Willingness to adapt work hours according to client requirements.
Work Environment:
- Office-based setting.
- Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, with varying hours from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including occasional evenings or weekends.
- No travel required.
