Job Overview

iMedX, a RapidCare Group company, is seeking a highly skilled Outpatient Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time, hourly paid position that can be worked from home.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outpatient coding, with a focus on quality assurance and compliance. They will be responsible for performing quality audits, reviewing coding for accuracy, and identifying trends and inconsistencies.

The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in outpatient coding, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to work independently, with a high level of attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform outpatient coding quality audits as directed by the Coding Manager.
  2. Review coding for all accounts selected for outpatient quality review (SDS, OBS, ED, Ancillary, etc.).
  3. Alert the Coding Manager to trends and/or consistent issues identified in the audit process.
  4. Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in coding, and take measures to assure corrections are made as appropriate.
  5. Develop tools to increase coding quality within the team framework.
  6. Conduct account reviews as requested by the client.
  7. Maintain knowledge of current coding guidelines for audits as assigned.
  8. Stay current on coding guidelines and trends, and continually enhance coding and technology skills.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and safeguard the privacy of protected health information (PHI).
  10. Promote the Company's values.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a formally recognized coding program.
  • Acceptable credentials include: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or other AHIMA or AAPC CPC coding credential.
  • Minimum of five years' experience with all aspects of outpatient coding, encompassing a working knowledge of the ICD and CPT coding guidelines and practices, technology and processes.
Work Environment

This is a remote, work-from-home position that requires a personal computer meeting the requirements of the position. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with a high level of attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
