Location: Happy Hearts Academy

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child Care Specialist to join our team at Happy Hearts Academy. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in children's well-being and be able to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning and child development.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working in a child care or preschool setting, with supervisory experience or previous role as a teacher's assistant being a plus. A High School Diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement, with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field being preferred. A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is also desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning and child development.
  • Classroom Management: Oversee the classroom environment to ensure a safe, clean, and positive space for learning.
  • Child Development Assessment: Observe and assess children's development, and communicate progress and needs to parents.
  • Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and guide assistant teachers and staff members.
  • Parent Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with parents about their child's progress and behavior.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all local regulations and health/safety guidelines are followed, including maintaining proper child-to-staff ratios.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a child care or preschool setting.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
  • Affiliate location may require certifications such as CPR and First Aid Certification, and a background check.
