Financial Planning Analyst

About the Role:

The Financial Planning Analyst will be responsible for providing financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making at Galls. This role will involve analyzing financial data, developing budget and forecast practices, and working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed financial analysis and provide insights to identify key performance drivers of variances to objectives
  • Interpret operating results and communicate opportunities to functional business leads
  • Assist in developing weekly, monthly, and annual projections by preparing department templates, reviewing for consistency, analyzing spending trends, performing allocations when necessary, and coordinating functional business partner inputs
  • Perform detailed analysis to monitor key performance indicators across functional areas of the organization
  • Proactively assist in developing projects to identify cost savings throughout the business
  • Support strategic planning and decision-making by identifying and analyzing business trends within customer and/or geographic behaviors, market segmentations, and other relevant groups
  • Create ad-hoc reporting to functional business leads to support various business decisions and strategic modeling
  • Assist in preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting packages and other financial deliverables
  • Monitor and implement adherence of financial controls
  • Seek ways to improve established reporting standards, either as requested or required by current business results
  • Point person for consulting group, Insight 2 Profit (pricing strategists), and pricing analytics software platform
  • Perform advanced analytics of sell-side price opportunities and provide recommendations
  • Create, implement, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales and margin impact reporting metrics and provide summary of margin/sell-side issues or opportunities
  • Review existing contract price agreements and initiate sell-side price updates and recommend changes

Requirements:

  • Financial reporting experience in small to mid-sized company a plus
  • Strong planning, organization, and cross-functional project skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to think independently and solve problems
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues to solve relevant issues in a time-efficient manner
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks, efficiently organize, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including effective presentation and documentation
  • Ability to communicate across cross-functional groups and multiple departments within the organization
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with SQL or Power BI tools preferred
