ROLE SUMMARY:

The Aquatic Program Supervisor is responsible for the development, organization, and management of swim lesson programs at In-Shape Family Fitness. This position ensures that all swim activities are executed effectively, maintaining high standards of quality and profitability while adhering to budgetary constraints.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the established standards for swim programming and ensure swim instructors meet these expectations.
  • Enhance participant retention by actively engaging with members to understand their needs and implementing feedback-driven solutions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all swim lessons, stepping in as an instructor when necessary.
  • May involve lifeguarding duties and conducting both private and group swim lessons.
  • Foster relationships with current and prospective swim program participants.
  • Maintain swim program equipment and communicate any issues to club management.
  • Provide administrative support for swim lesson operations.
  • Act as a liaison between In-Shape and the local community.
  • Administer and analyze end-of-session surveys to gather participant feedback.
  • Review daily performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Operate within set budgets and seek ways to enhance efficiency while minimizing unnecessary expenses.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-managed facility.
  • Build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current lifeguard certification or the ability to obtain certification shortly after hiring.
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to achieve certification shortly after hiring.
  • Knowledge and experience in swimming and swim lesson programming.
  • Previous experience in supervising swim lesson programs.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Positive and flexible attitude towards meeting member expectations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of performing well under pressure.
  • Able to follow instructions and complete necessary documentation.
  • Successful completion of a basic swim assessment is required during the hiring process.
  • Ability to swim various strokes effectively.
  • Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices.
  • Participation in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Must be Trustline registered; assistance with registration will be provided upon job acceptance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, with occasional physical activities in and around water. Team members may be required to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds, with some tasks requiring lifting of heavier weights. Exposure to cleaning agents and the necessity of wearing personal protective equipment may occur.
