Job Summary

Rural Metro Fire is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Industrial Firefighter to join our team. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for responding to fires and emergencies in a timely and safe manner, while also participating in control of fires through hose and nozzle work, use of hand tools, or a combination of these methods.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to fires and emergencies in a timely and safe manner
  • Participate in control of fires through hose and nozzle work, use of hand tools, or a combination of these methods
  • Administer first aid to injured parties at their appropriate level of training
  • Quickly analyze situations where life safety is threatened and apply the correct treatment
  • Safely operate Company vehicles and equipment as directed
  • Assist in the maintenance of fire and rescue apparatus, tools, and equipment
  • Keep the company base and related grounds, facilities, and supplies in a clean, orderly, and useable condition
  • Perform routine non-firefighting work tasks, such as working on Company records, time cards, and other related paperwork
  • Function satisfactorily as a team member of a fire company at any emergency or non-emergency scene
Requirements
  • 18 years old
  • High school graduate or possess a GED certificate
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 1 year part-time experience with a recognized all-risk Volunteer Fire Department or 6 months full-time experience with a professional department
  • Transportation Security Administration's "Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card
  • EMR, EMT-B, EMT-A, or Paramedic certification (dependent on contractual obligations)
  • AHA CPR/AED credentials
  • Physical Agility Fitness Test (Initial Hire and Annually)
