Wildland Fire Captain

At Capstone, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wildland Fire Captain to join our team. As a Wildland Fire Captain, you will be responsible for supervising and overseeing a team of firefighters and engineers in an assigned fire company.
Responsibilities:- Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a fire station and the apparatus and personnel assigned to that station.
- Supervise a fire and rescue crew and the station apparatus dispatched to emergency scenes, including fire scenes, emergency medical calls, hazardous materials incidents, etc.
- May serve in the capacity of incident commander at emergency incidents.
- Conduct fire safety, home safety, fire extinguisher and pre-fire planning inspections.
- Provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, conduct station tours, visit schools, and participate in public education standbys.
- Direct technical and functional supervision over firefighting staff and directly and indirectly supervise Firefighters, Fire Engineers, Fire Lieutenants and EMS personnel assigned to a specific fire station.
- Supervise the safe operation of company apparatus at all times.
- Delegate duties and responsibilities to subordinates.
- Perform annual or bi-annual performance evaluations of assigned crew members and create and implement Performance Action Plans if necessary.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- State, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (ProBoard) Firefighter II and Hazardous Materials-Operations level certification.
- Five years full-time Firefighter service with Rural/Metro Fire Department.
- State or National Registered as an EMT-P or EMT-B certification.
- Valid driver license with good driving record. DUI within last 5 years is disqualifying.
- Able to work 24 hr shifts.
- Able to work any shift assigned, including nights, holidays and weekends.
- Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis.
