The Real Estate Analyst Role

Bailard, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Real Estate Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Real Estate team, you will play a critical role in the property-level analytical activities for our Fund's investments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting financial analysis for potential acquisitions, including underwriting new investments and providing financial analysis for all investment-level decisions.
  • Creating and modifying Argus models and Excel discounted cash flow and waterfall models to support investment decisions.
  • Performing financial analysis to support investment decisions, including new leases, capital plans, financing, and exit strategies.
  • Researching necessary market data for prospective investments to determine underwriting assumptions.
  • Reviewing and presenting quarterly valuations of existing assets in partnership with the team.
  • Assisting in the preparation of internal investment memos for acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and re-financings.
  • Market research related to reporting and investment strategy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of work experience in commercial real estate.
  • Strong proficiency in Argus and Excel with experience in discounted cash flow modeling and waterfall structures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the ability to effectively adapt communication to multiple audiences.
  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to stay current with technological developments.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in the Financial Services Industry, specifically in Real Estate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEC regulatory requirements and the technology required to meet those requirements.
