Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated professional for the position of Vice President of Operations, Emergency Services. In this pivotal role, you will be an integral part of the leadership team, managing all operational functions, strategic initiatives, financial oversight, and risk management within the emergency services department. You will collaborate closely with the department head to assess and pursue innovative business and educational ventures in collaboration with other state or health system entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the department head to formulate and execute comprehensive strategies, enhance operational effectiveness, and ensure accountability across the board.
  • Provide governance support, oversee financial reporting, and ensure adherence to regulatory policies.
  • Work in tandem with the leadership team to meet and surpass strategic objectives.
  • Protect the financial integrity of the department and contribute to long-term strategic planning.
  • Supervise various administrative operations and ensure budget alignment with institutional objectives.
  • Direct risk management initiatives to maintain a high-quality operational environment.
  • Improve financial information systems to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate with the HR team on personnel initiatives and professional development programs.
  • Monitor integration progress and deliver metrics for success evaluation.
  • Provide counsel on capital investments and resource distribution.
  • Assist in talent acquisition and retention strategies within the department.
  • Participate in fundraising initiatives and oversee research funding and outcomes.
  • Lead and develop administrative personnel while managing daily operations.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of eight years in management roles, including executive-level experience.
  • FLSA: Exempt
