The Culinary Specialist will be tasked with setting up, maintaining, and executing menu items as directed by the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chefs. Above all, this role is integral in fostering a positive workplace atmosphere that aligns with the core values of Saba.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Proficient basic knife skills
  • Fundamental understanding of culinary terminology and techniques
  • 1-5 years of experience in a kitchen setting is advantageous
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
  • Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety regulations, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and recipes. Competence in writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication skills in group settings.
  • Capability to resolve practical challenges and navigate various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Skill in interpreting diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling tools or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, and hear. Frequent sitting and reaching with hands and arms. Occasional climbing or balancing may be required.
