We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Assistant A/R to join our team at Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. This is a full-time position responsible for managing accounts receivable and financial records.
Key Responsibilities- Accounts Receivable Processing and Collections
- Process and record all incoming payments from clients, including cash, checks, and credit card payments.
- Track and manage accounts receivable balances, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding payments.
- Prepare and distribute monthly invoices to clients.
- Communicate with clients regarding payment status and resolve any discrepancies.
- Financial Records Processing
- Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis, providing insights to inform business decisions.
- Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as needed.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives, such as financial audits and compliance reviews.
- Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field, and two years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, and some related experience.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of Excel software program.
- Strong working knowledge of computers, the internet, Windows, and Microsoft Office software.
- Accurate editing and keyboarding skills (45 words per minute).
- Ability to work in a professional manner both independently and with others in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
This is a full-time position, working 20-23 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent in-person, electronic, and phone contact with staff and public, often involving confidential information.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen.
