Job Title: Junior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Junior Accountant to join our team in the engineering industry. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including financial statements and budget performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
  • Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
  • Generate financial reports and statements for review by management.
  • Perform month-end accounting activities, such as reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Handle expense reporting and manage Concur software.
  • Set up new vendors in the system and maintain existing ones.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (preferably Concur).
  • Excellent numerical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with month-end processes and expense reporting is crucial.
  • Experience in vendor set up and management is required.
  • Knowledge of the engineering industry would be an added advantage.
