Medical Technologist Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Technologist to join our team at Rochester Regional Health. As a Senior Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic procedures, interpreting test results, and communicating with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely patient care.
Responsibilities- Perform specialized and complex diagnostic procedures, including preparing reagents and maintaining laboratory supplies.
- Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition to explain test results.
- Communicate stat and critical lab results to healthcare teams.
- Perform quality control, routine, and advanced maintenance, and instrument troubleshooting.
- Maintain knowledge of required computer functions associated with testing and assist in completing testing and workflow management.
- Conduct research and development of new or updated technologies and provide written evaluation to supervisor.
- Assist in training new and existing employees on new procedures and instrumentation.
- Act as a technical consultant to technologists, technicians, and/or students rotating through their area.
- BS in Medical Technology or BS in a related Science (Biology, Chemistry, or The Physical Sciences) and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York State Department of Education for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- New York State Department of Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- Previous experience in a laboratory supervisory or leadership position preferred.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
Pay Range$41.00 - $45.50
