Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce state and federal laws, as well as local ordinances, to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.
  • Protect Methodist University property and assets from criminal offenses.
  • Maintain proficiency in all essential job functions of a law enforcement officer, as outlined in the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission form (F-8).
  • Secure campus facilities through presence or building security plans.
  • Follow the Public Safety Manual of procedures and directives from the Chief/Director or supervisory staff.
  • Respond to law enforcement-related calls for assistance within Methodist University jurisdiction.
  • Assist in providing police coverage on a 24-hour basis, as directed by your supervisor.
  • Communicate police problems/issues to your police supervisor.
  • Complete and file all required forms, including incident reports, daily patrol reports, maintenance reports, accident reports, and other reports as necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training for the State of North Carolina.
  • At least one year of law enforcement experience.
