Responsibilities

The Retail Assistant Manager Trainee is being prepared for the role of Assistant Store Manager. Upon successful completion of training, relocation or commuting to one of the designated stores will be necessary. The primary focus of this role is to assist the Store Manager in executing effective operations management. Continuous development of product knowledge and a thorough understanding of daily store operations, customer service, and merchandising are crucial. Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire and oversee team members are essential.


• Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure high-quality customer service and effective staff training

• Guide store personnel to drive revenue and achieve sales targets

• Coordinate the efforts of all store staff to enhance revenue and meet sales objectives

• Maintain appealing, safe, and accurately priced merchandise displays and layouts.

• Recruit, train, and nurture staff

• Serve as a positive and professional role model for the team

• Address associate and customer inquiries and concerns

• Share responsibility for the maintenance and cleanliness of the store and surroundings

• Exhibit effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Familiarize oneself with standard practices within the retail sector

• Foster and maintain a positive work environment
• Utilize general office equipment such as telephones, copiers, and computers

• Operate retail equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks

• May be required to cross-train and perform additional duties

• Minimum of 2 years in retail management


• Outgoing self-starter with a passion for teamwork


• Proficient in Excel and Word


• Skilled in using various computer software systems


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible and resourceful


• Capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines with attention to detail


• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.


• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as needed


• Must meet federal requirements for obtaining a Federal Firearms License (FFL) and any local regulations


• Proficient in using in-store computer systems and scanning technology


• Capable of completing online training and onboarding processes

Physical Requirements


• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull at least 30 pounds consistently and 31-50 pounds occasionally

• Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods


• Ability to use ladders and pallet jacks

• Effective communication skills for all audiences

• Good visual acuity

• Close vision for computer tasks

• Repetitive wrist movements for keyboard use

• Ability to navigate stairs multiple times throughout the day

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all audiences (in-person or via handheld devices)
