Ultrasound Technologist MFM Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our Maternal Fetal Health department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all types of ultrasound exams on perinatal patients for diagnostic purposes, utilizing various types of ultrasound equipment and exercising independent judgment to determine the necessary views for accurate diagnosis.
- Prepare patients accordingly and assist the perinatologist as needed.
- Image and measure appropriately, performing all types of exams and judging the adequacy of images.
- Recognize normal and abnormal anatomy, develop differential diagnoses of findings, and ask for assistance when needed.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality while providing a safe environment for patients.
- Check equipment for optimal setup, determine correct equipment usage, clean and disinfect equipment according to Infection Control policies, and present cases to perinatologists for discussion and plan of care.
- Ensure delivery of excellent customer service, resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for the department and Medical Center.
- Maintain supplies and restock as needed, promote a compassionate and supportive environment, and demonstrate prompt and consistent service.
- Communicate ideas and instructions clearly, accurately, and effectively, and demonstrate listening skills, soliciting input and feedback from others.
- Take responsibility for own actions and attitude, provide extraordinary service to patients and customers, and demonstrate ability to work with others effectively within and outside the department.
- Display knowledge of PMC services and programs, and the locations that provide these services, contribute to a clean, safe, and uncluttered work environment, and behave professionally in all interactions with patients, families, and other staff members.
- Associate's degree in Ultrasound technology, Certification in Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
- First Trimester Certification, Fetal Medicine Foundation Nuchal Translucency.
- 2-3 years prior experience required.
- Ability to read and concentrate frequently to check accuracy of reports, correspondence, computer records, etc.
- Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret policies and procedures.
- Ability to deal with stress of dealing with public, frequent interruptions, and working on more than one task concurrently.
- Flexibility to respond to changes in priorities, special project assignments, and emergency situations.
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to provide effective patient care.
