Position Overview

The Senior Engineer, Mechanical plays a crucial role in enhancing product performance by adhering to established design control protocols and maintaining high standards in engineering and documentation practices. This position primarily involves executing complex projects assigned by senior engineers and managers, focusing on existing products while following standard operating procedures in a supportive capacity.

This role requires a presence at our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

Immediate Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned tasks and monitor project progress by leveraging existing work to inform similar projects and enhance previous outcomes.
  • Ensure project timelines and milestones are met, delivering results on schedule and within financial constraints.
  • Operate under the guidance of senior engineers, completing regular assignments with minimal oversight.
  • Assist in the execution of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) tasks and deliverables.
  • Engage in special projects as they arise.
  • Support production efforts by reviewing specifications, implementing changes, and addressing product issues through root cause analysis.

Long-term Responsibilities

  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of processes and products.
  • Provide valuable insights to product teams regarding the development of innovative designs, methodologies, or processes.
  • May participate in training new team members on documentation, equipment usage, laboratory techniques, and departmental protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders (managers, peers, customers) to maximize collaboration and information sharing.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid engineering foundation with an understanding of material strength, automation, plastic injection molding, testing, CAD proficiency, and the ability to interpret 2D drawings.
  • Proficient in office software, technical writing, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective time management.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt best practices.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles.
  • Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of providing input and recommendations that influence project outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
