Position Overview:
As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our facility, directly impacting the lives of our residents. Your responsibilities will include supervising nursing assistants and executing daily nursing tasks to ensure comprehensive care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of nursing assistants in compliance with current regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct Nursing Reports with assigned nursing assistants and review 24-hour summary reports in the electronic medical record.
- Perform administrative tasks, including completing medical forms, evaluations, and documentation for all assigned residents.
- Ensure all medications and treatments are properly documented and inform the Nursing Supervisor of any changes in resident conditions.
- Receive and transcribe physician orders, preparing and administering medications as directed.
- Facilitate the admission process for new residents, ensuring their rooms are ready and welcoming them upon arrival.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure resident care is executed effectively and evaluate resident status regularly.
- Maintain accurate nurse's notes reflecting adherence to care plans and update care plans as necessary.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN in this state or a compact state, along with a valid CPR certification. Previous experience in long-term care is preferred.
