As an Accounting Technician with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. Key Responsibilities- Interpret and analyze financial data to identify trends and root causes of problems
- Research and process a variety of accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and legality
- Prepare detailed correspondence and reports to explain accounting discrepancies and procedural requirements
- Maintain and reconcile accounting records for multiple accounts
- U.S. citizenship or national status
- Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959)
- Suitable for federal employment
- Security clearance and suitability review required
This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-04, GS-05, or GS-06, with a target grade of GS-06. Candidates must have one year of Generalized Experience or Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-04 or GS-05 grade level, respectively.
