Position Overview

As a Pickleball Instructor at the Jewish Community Center of Dallas, you will play a vital role in enhancing our esteemed pickleball program. Reporting directly to the Director of Racquet Sports, you will contribute significantly to the development and expansion of our offerings. This role is contracted, with competitive compensation for group lessons and a share of private lesson fees. Availability during evenings and weekends is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive instruction for players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of pickleball clinics, private lessons, and special events to engage and retain participants.
  • Create safe, structured, and engaging lesson plans that promote ongoing participation in pickleball.
  • Ensure that all participants are familiar with the rules, scoring systems, safety protocols, and etiquette associated with pickleball.
  • Uphold all regulations and standards set forth by the Jewish Community Center regarding facility usage and equipment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries and feedback from members and guests.

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage biweekly payroll for services rendered.
  • Verify online records for payment status of classes and lessons.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred qualifications include Net Generation Certification or collegiate-level pickleball experience.
  • Experience in teaching pickleball to diverse age groups and skill levels is essential.
  • A minimum USA Pickleball rating of 4.0 is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of both Tennis and Pickleball is required.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must pass all necessary background checks, including potential FBI fingerprint checks.
  • Adherence to the organization’s Mission, Core Values, and HR policies is mandatory.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to navigate stairs, lift up to 20 pounds, and proficiently use office equipment.
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain such certification.
