The Radiation Oncology department at Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician. This role involves working with a cutting-edge Varian Edge Linear Accelerator to deliver high-quality radiation therapy for pets diagnosed with cancer.

As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate with board-certified veterinary specialists, residents, students, and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive care for our patients. The position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with both animals and their owners throughout the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations for each patient, including venipuncture, catheter placement, and sedation monitoring.
  • Assist in the administration of anesthesia during radiation therapy sessions.
  • Implement radiation therapy protocols using advanced technology.
  • Collaborate with various hospital departments to enhance patient care.
  • Educate and mentor veterinary students and interns in radiation therapy practices.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from an AVMA-accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years of experience in small animal practice.
  • Eligibility for licensure in New York State.
  • Commitment to professional development and advanced training.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Veterinary Technician Specialists (VTS) or those interested in pursuing VTS are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
