At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space technology to make humanity a multi-planetary species. As a Propulsion Technician on our Dragon Spacecraft team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the success of our missions.


**Key Responsibilities:**


  • Prepare test stands and equipment for propulsion system testing.
  • Tack weld structural components to meet drawing requirements.
  • Prepare hardware for outsourcing to laser welding facilities.
  • Stage, install, set up, test, and de-stage production, repair, and overhaul engines.
  • Troubleshoot engines and cell systems.
  • Operate test cell instrumentation and use computer network systems to analyze test data.
  • Accept or reject test units based on calculated test data and results.

**Requirements:**


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working on spacecraft fluid systems.
  • Minimum 2 years of pressure testing experience up to 5000 psi on flight-rated components.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience setting up component test assemblies.
  • Aerospace components assembly experience required.

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**


  • Training in propulsion engine staging, installation, removal, and de-staging.
  • A&P license desired.
  • Experience with pressure, temperature, and flow measurement devices, and mechanical and electrical systems.
  • 5 years of aerospace engines experience a plus.
  • Strong mathematical, basic computer, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Additional Requirements:**


  • Ability to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying required.
  • Lift up to 25lbs unassisted.

**ITAR Requirements:**


  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
