POSITION SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Director of Title III and the Executive Director of Student Success & Engagement, this position is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to students, staff, and visitors while providing comprehensive support to the Student Success and Engagement (SSE) department and Title III projects. Responsibilities include reception duties, office management, and administrative assistance, all aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and innovation to further the mission of Marion Technical College.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver administrative assistance across various student services within the SSE department, including advising, disability services, and tutoring. Manage incoming communications, schedule appointments, and maintain organized records.
- Evaluate student requests for appointments and advising. Review academic records to verify majors and course completions, and assist with enrollment outreach initiatives.
- Maintain proficiency in software and systems utilized by the College. Serve as an administrator for student engagement platforms, assisting with data management and report generation.
- Participate in SSE and Title III meetings, providing summaries and assisting in the preparation of progress reports.
- Oversee the hiring and training of student employees, ensuring effective front desk operations and task management.
- Assist with procurement processes and budget management for the department.
- Support the planning and execution of SSE programs and events, including managing registration and tracking participation.
- Maintain inventory of departmental materials and ensure the accuracy of documents and online content.
- Respond promptly to inquiries while upholding confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Engage in professional development to enhance skills and contribute to departmental goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of an Associate's degree in business, office administration, or a related field is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Candidates should possess at least three years of relevant administrative experience, particularly in customer service, with a preference for experience in higher education.
Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment are essential. Candidates should demonstrate independence in project completion and attention to detail.
