Role Description:

The Housing Support Coordinator will be an integral member of a dedicated team that assists individuals facing homelessness in accessing housing resources. This role involves conducting intake assessments and screenings for families and individuals seeking rent assistance due to financial difficulties that may lead to eviction. The Coordinator will evaluate participants' vulnerability, determine eligibility, request and process necessary documentation, input data into a database, and collaborate with the accounting department to ensure timely assistance payments. Additionally, the Coordinator will work closely with the Housing Services team and other EPHC staff to fulfill these responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake interviews to evaluate clients' eligibility for housing assistance.
  • Maintain accurate program data, utilizing databases for tracking activities and expenditures.
  • Assess initial and ongoing participant eligibility, including processing applications and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Communicate findings to applicants and partner agencies.
  • Document client data and case notes in accordance with agency standards.
  • Adhere to EPHC policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training sessions and coordination meetings as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with cultural competence.
  • A bachelor's degree or a high school diploma/GED with two years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in financial recordkeeping, payment tracking, and file organization.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting Latino communities, particularly in housing.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; data entry and management experience is essential.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of work and take initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently; adaptable to fast-paced dynamics.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Commitment to supporting the organizational mission and goals.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain required automobile insurance. Frequent travel may be necessary.
  • Successful completion of background checks is required.

Compensation: The starting pay rate is $24 per hour.


Work Environment: This position primarily operates in a hybrid/remote setting, with regular in-person meetings required. On-site work will take place at EPHC's offices. Job responsibilities may involve occasional travel and evening or weekend hours based on project timelines.
