About the Role

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Unit Service Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our nursing unit, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing a broad range of clerical support functions, including reception duties, patient data collection, medical record assembly, and patient admission/discharge assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform reception functions, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
  • Collect and compile patient data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assemble medical records, maintaining up-to-date and organized files
  • Assist with patient admission/discharge, ensuring smooth transitions and communication
  • Perform routine patient care functions as needed, demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered care
Requirements
  • Must be able to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Prior work experience in an administrative/clerical role, preferably in a medical setting
  • Preventative Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) Certification within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of medical terminology and Universal Precautions
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
