Position Overview:

The Baltimore Area Council is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Executive to join our team. This full-time role is essential for enhancing the operations of Scouting across various communities in the greater Baltimore region. The starting salary for this position ranges from $42,000 - $48,000, commensurate with relevant experience.

This role offers the flexibility to work remotely as well as within your designated service area. The primary office location is at the Scout Service Center. The Community Engagement Executive will travel locally to connect with chapters, engage with volunteers, and collaborate with committees to implement annual initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a volunteer board and local leaders to identify, recruit, train, and motivate volunteers to participate in Scouting.
  • Partner with volunteers to expand Scouting programs within community organizations.
  • Assist volunteers in securing necessary financial resources for local programs.
  • Act as a positive role model and foster strong relationships with other professionals and volunteers.
  • Deliver exceptional service through effective communication, regular meetings, training sessions, and community activities.

Qualifications:

  • Self-driven with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with insurance.
  • People-oriented, with experience working alongside adult volunteers and community leaders.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to achieve goals.
  • Commitment to the principles and values of the Scouting program.

Preferred Skills:

  • Comfortable with public speaking and engaging diverse audiences; prior leadership experience in clubs or organizations is advantageous.
  • Dedicated to maintaining high ethical standards and professional productivity.
  • Experience in non-profit sectors, fundraising, sales, or marketing is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • A background in Scouting is a plus but not essential.
