Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex mathematical and statistical models to analyze large datasets and provide actionable insights.
  • Optimize the operation of the PUP (production utilization model) and production costing model to improve forecasting accuracy and reduce costs.
  • Analyze actual operating data to benchmark and revise model assumptions, ensuring data-driven decision making.
  • Automate processes through programming to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the solid-fueled fleet and the variables that impact system dispatch, providing expert analysis and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide analytical expertise, challenge conventional views, and drive business outcomes.
  • Communicate complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder buy-in.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Math, Computer Science, or related field, and an advanced degree (MA or Ph.D.) in mathematics, computer science, statistics, economics, or finance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, VBA, SAS, or related programming languages.
  • 3+ years of experience in programming, data analysis, and complex mathematical and statistical modeling.
  • Experience in SQL or other database software is preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize information into meaningful conclusions and tactical recommendations.
