Position Title: Early Childhood Education Assistant

This role involves supporting the Lead Teacher in a preschool environment that operates seasonally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of monthly educational plans and enrichment activities.
- Foster a nurturing learning atmosphere that encourages children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive growth.
- Supervise preschool-aged children during various activities within the classroom setting.
- Propose and implement engaging program activities and projects.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children participating in the program.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor participant safety through regular attendance checks and head counts.
- Lead and guide children in age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, games, and physical activities.
- Prepare and serve snacks while adhering to food service standards.
- Utilize positive behavior management techniques to redirect children as necessary.
- Set up and clean up materials and equipment for activities.
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's progress and respond to inquiries.
- Report any suspected child abuse to the appropriate authorities.
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed.
- Maintain accurate records related to programs and activities.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare setting.
- Ability to organize and facilitate daily activities effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit in a diverse environment.
- Understanding of relevant childcare regulations.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiarity with positive behavior management for young children.
- Ability to plan and implement educational and recreational activities.
- Excellent customer service and record-keeping skills.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires frequent mobility and the ability to lift materials up to 30 pounds. The majority of the work will be conducted indoors, with some outdoor activities.
