Where You Will Work

Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour drive apart - separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles underground).

The Henderson mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire.

It has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block-cave, underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a current capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day.

It can produce approximately 15 million pounds of molybdenum per year. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling.

Both sites are surrounded by US Forest Service land of the Arapaho National Forest, making it easy for our employees and their families to enjoy year-round hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing in the area.

Job Summary

Highly skilled mechanic who under supervision safely performs diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of underground mobile equipment (Loaders, haul trucks, graders, bobcats, skid steers, concrete trucks) etc.

Perform troubleshooting and system/component diagnostic, replacement and repairs on, but not limited to the following: Power Trains, Hydraulic Systems, Electrical low voltage Systems, Engines, Pneumatics / AC systems, and Frames

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engine replacements, transmission replacements, powertrain replacements, hydraulic motor replacements etc.
  • Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on underground haul trucks, front-end loaders, electrical and/or hydraulic drills and bolters and other utility support vehicles.
  • Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
  • Perform welding: Mig, Stick, Tig, Arc, etc
  • Perform fabrication duties: frame repairs, brackets, body work.
  • Train and mentor other employees.
  • Performs emission testing on underground equipment.
  • Complete work area inspections and housekeeping duties.
  • Perform as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
  • May operate mobile equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, presses, front-end loaders, and mine tractors.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Two (2) years' experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.

Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Previous experience in underground mobile equipment maintenance - including diesel and electro-hydraulic systems

Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power train and low voltage electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics utilizing test equipment, drawings, & manufacturer manuals.

Criteria/Conditions:

This is a Safety sensitive role

May be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation

While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see and work in confined spaces

Occasionally may be asked required to life moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $38.50/hour.

This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.

Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines
