Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Coastal Ecology Group, Llc. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing and troubleshooting machine guidance systems on a variety of earth-moving and paving equipment. You will also perform electrical repairs, including the installation of system wiring harnesses and related sensors, configuring machine guidance software, and performing software-related tasks. Additionally, you will install GPS components and wiring on heavy equipment, modify and install hydraulic valves and hoses, and use Trimble survey gear to precisely measure and calibrate machines.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and troubleshoot machine guidance systems on a variety of earth-moving and paving equipment, both in the field and at customer facilities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, software, and hardware faults within a machine system on job sites.
  • Perform electrical repairs, including the installation of system wiring harnesses and related sensors, configuring machine guidance software, and performing software-related tasks.
  • Install GPS components and wiring on a variety of heavy equipment.
  • Modify and install hydraulic valves and hoses.
  • Use Trimble survey gear to precisely measure and calibrate machines.
  • Operate heavy equipment for troubleshooting and calibration.
  • Order parts and complete service reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including demonstration of installed systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to operate company vehicle.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical system installation, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Experience with CAT, John Deere, Volvo, Bobcat, Doosan, or similar machinery.
  • Experience with Trimble products is desirable but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders.
  • Ability to interact with customers and answer repair-related questions.
  • Possess a can-do attitude, be adaptable, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or after-hours if needed.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed. The work location is in person.
