Job Responsibilities:

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? The SC Department of Social Services is seeking dedicated individuals to assist in enhancing the lives of children, families, and vulnerable adults.

Key Duties:
  • The CWS Case Management Assistant supports CWS Case Managers in the Lowcountry Adoption Office, focusing on Foster Care and Adoption case management services.
  • Coordinates transportation to community resources as part of the social service aide plan.
  • Collaborates with a professional team to design services for clients.
  • Requests educational, medical, dental, and law enforcement records.
  • Facilitates referrals to service providers, family group conferencing, and Seneca search.
  • Assists in preparing Foster Care Review Board packets, IV-E packets, Home Studies, ICPC packets, Child Background Summaries, and Legal Packets.
  • Provides transportation for children.
  • Supports child and family visitation efforts.
  • Participates in Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter services as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:

Agency Requirements:
A High School Diploma with three (3) years of experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business.

An Associate's Degree with one (1) year of experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to transport children and adults. Ability to lift children and interact positively with individuals of all ages is essential. Must be prepared to work after hours with little notice and handle stressful situations effectively.
