Position Overview:
As the HVAC Operations Supervisor, you will be pivotal in overseeing the upkeep and repair of all HVAC systems, including refrigeration, heating, building automation, energy management, and water treatment systems for Chumash Enterprises. You will lead a team of skilled HVAC service technicians, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance and general operational tasks on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as compressed air systems.
  • Manage HVAC energy consumption through building automation systems.
  • Oversee the installation, repair, and replacement of pumps, valves, fans, and associated equipment.
  • Procure materials and supplies necessary for maintaining HVAC systems to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare project estimates, including work hours, materials, and resources required.
  • Schedule, assign, and evaluate the work of Facilities Technicians supporting HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Facilities Operations and Facility Manager to discuss workloads and priorities.
  • Review technicians' work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Provide safety and equipment training, ensuring all power tools are in safe working condition.
  • Coordinate the activities of external contractors.
  • Solicit bids and project specifics as needed.
  • Maintain records of repairs, purchases, and inventory.
  • Deliver comprehensive trades and safety training.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members, conducting performance reviews and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that emphasizes teamwork, recognition, and mutual respect while embodying the values and culture of Chumash Enterprises.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years in facilities maintenance or construction.
  • At least three years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of shop mathematics, building plans, and blueprints, along with proficiency in using trade-related tools and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications, email, and internet usage.
  • Commitment to ongoing departmental training.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules in a 24/7 environment, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License.
  • Preference for Native American candidates.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze complex information and make sound judgments that align with organizational goals.
  • Conceptual Thinking: Skill in identifying patterns and underlying issues in complex situations.
  • Problem Solving: Capacity to identify and resolve problems effectively.
  • Oral Communication: Proficient in articulating ideas and information clearly.
  • Written Communication: Ability to produce clear, well-structured, and grammatically correct reports and documents.
