Role Overview:As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in collaborating with healthcare providers and guiding patients throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare examination and treatment areas with the necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and organization at the end of each workday.
2. Review patient histories, reasons for visits, medications, and patient comprehension of procedures, documenting relevant information accurately.
3. Ensure that MIPS data is consistently and accurately recorded in the medical records.
4. Assist in scheduling patient tests and treatments efficiently.
5. Support dermatology providers during surgical procedures, including excisions, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic treatments.
6. Provide assistance at the front desk by answering calls, scheduling appointments, and supporting staff in reception tasks once back-office duties are fulfilled.
7. Maintain cleanliness and perform spore testing on the autoclave, adhering to scheduled maintenance and keeping precise records.
8. Monitor expiration dates on medications and samples, maintaining up-to-date records.
9. Process prescription refills according to established protocols, ensuring necessary authorizations are obtained.
10. Demonstrate responsibility in managing pathology and culture logs.
Skills and Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following skills are beneficial:
- Strong customer service orientation or a patient-centered approach.
- Previous experience in dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics.
- Familiarity with insurance providers (e.g., Medicare, commercial, HMO).
- Proficiency in EClinicalWorks, EMA, or other electronic medical record systems.
