Job Title: Protection M&S Engineer

Arcfield is seeking a highly skilled Protection M&S Engineer to join our team of experts in space protection-related modeling and simulation analysis.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced engineer to support the development, tailoring, and maintenance of a robust capability of engineering models and simulators in support of predictive analysis of complex systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform space protection evaluations of threat avoidance concepts
  • Develop and maintain integrated software tools to evaluate satellite protection technologies and tradecraft throughout the system engineering lifecycle
  • Perform modeling and simulation to support development and tailoring of software, algorithms, and technologies
  • Conduct orbital analyses and trade studies
  • Perform maneuver determination and analysis
  • Develop and execute campaign modeling and scenario development, modeling, and analysis
Qualifications:
  • BS, MS, or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., aerospace, mechanical, electrical, software engineering, imaging science, data science, mathematics, physics)
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Experience with space protection evaluations and collision avoidance evaluations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions
  • Intelligence community domain knowledge and demonstrated understanding of user needs and operational environments
  • Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including independent testing and data verification
  • Experience developing M&S engineering code to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in Radar and Electro-optical Engineering
  • Experience in Atmospheric Modeling
  • Experience in Data Mining, Analysis, Performance Analysis, Predictive Analytics, and Reporting using various methods and tools
  • Experience in developing software applications and data architectures supporting systems engineering/development efforts
  • Familiarity with formal Software Testing
