Vice President of Real Estate and Community Development

The Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority (RRHA) seeks a seasoned professional to lead its real estate and community development efforts. As Vice President of Real Estate and Community Development, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives that align with the agency's mission to provide affordable, quality housing and promote sustainable community development.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement the agency's strategic goals related to real estate and community development.
- Manage a team of real estate development professionals, providing guidance and coaching to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for housing development, including partnerships with public and private stakeholders.
- Real Estate Development
- Oversee the planning, design, financing, and execution of real estate projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare accurate project development and construction budgets, and operating pro forma.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning and funding requirements.
- Work closely with the City of Richmond, Virginia Housing, and other partners to implement funding programs for redevelopment, development, and revitalization activities.
- Manage designated RRHA-owned real estate and ensure proper asset management.
- Community Engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders, developers, community organizations, and residents to foster collaboration and ensure community needs are met.
- Organize public outreach initiatives and community meetings to gather input and feedback on real estate and housing projects.
- Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the budget for real estate projects, ensuring financial viability and sustainability.
- Identify and secure funding sources, including grants, loans, and partnerships, to support RRHA's affordable housing initiatives.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Real Estate Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in real estate development, affordable housing development, or community development.
- Four or more years of demonstrated experience with mixed-use financing programs.
- Proven track record of managing complex real estate projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of housing policies, regulations, and funding mechanisms.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
