Share your enthusiasm for nature, environmental stewardship, and plant life with elementary school students during field trips, classroom interactions, and other educational activities. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning and executing educational programs and seasonal events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering educational programs both on-site and off-site to elementary school students.
- Supporting daily operations by managing supplies, facilities, and equipment.
- Assisting the educational programs department with various activities, events, and seasonal initiatives as required.
Work Environment: The role involves a mix of office and outdoor settings, with frequent interactions with students and educational materials.
Physical Requirements: The position requires nearly continuous sitting, listening, and talking, with frequent walking and repetitive hand motions.
Minimum Qualifications: An Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (one year of education can substitute for two years of related work experience) is required. Candidates should possess at least two years of relevant experience, strong logical reasoning skills for task prioritization, proficiency in MS Office, and effective communication abilities. Experience with databases is preferred, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field may be advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A demonstrated interest in environmental and informal education through education, work experience, or personal interests.
- A passion for plants, evidenced by education, work experience, or personal pursuits.
- Experience in outdoor educational settings.
- A genuine enjoyment of outdoor activities.
- A commitment to teaching and engaging with school-aged children, particularly those in grades K-6.
