Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Roadway Worker In Charge to join our team at National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS). As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our rail infrastructure and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide jobsite coordination and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety protocols and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with our team to identify and mitigate potential safety risks and develop strategies to improve safety performance.
  • Provide clear and concise communication with dispatchers, train crews, and other railroad personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in railroad safety or maintenance of way.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and policies, including 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to use software applications relevant to the role.
Working Environment

This role will operate in a field environment, with regular travel required to visit client sites and conduct site visits.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk on level/uneven ground.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate extreme heat/cold temperatures and dusty/noisy conditions.
