Position Overview:

This role presents a remarkable opportunity for individuals eager to embark on a journey in the field of automation controls engineering. As an Automation Controls Specialist, you will engage in the design and programming of control systems tailored for conveyor and material handling applications. Your duties will encompass supporting the project manager with system architecture, programming PLCs and HMIs, configuring field devices, and actively participating in site operations for system deployment. This position does not entail direct supervisory duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of control hardware frameworks utilizing diverse technologies such as Ethernet/IP and AS-Interface.
  • Configure field devices, including motion control systems and barcode scanning equipment.
  • Acquire skills in programming PLCs and HMIs with the Rockwell Automation software suite.
  • Design control panels and produce layout schematics using AutoCAD-Electrical or Eplan.
  • Engage in order processing tasks for control systems.
  • Support the implementation of PLC programs, including installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in organizational events and meetings.

Work Environment:

This position primarily functions within a professional office setting but may require travel to client sites. Occasionally, tasks may necessitate the use of tools for fine-tuning control systems during operational tests.

Physical Requirements:

The individual must be capable of sitting, walking, using hands, and lifting/moving equipment as necessary. Specific visual capabilities are also essential for this role.

Travel Expectations:

This position may involve travel commitments ranging from 25% to 60% annually, depending on project requirements.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Technology or equivalent professional experience.
  • 0-1 years of experience in a technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in personal computer usage and software applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supply chain management applications.
  • Proficiency in German or Spanish languages.
