Job Summary

The Field Supervisor will play a critical role in upholding the core values of Area Wide Protective (AWP), including Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. This position will require a passion for safety and leadership, with a focus on supporting the company's EHS initiatives that protect employees, customers, and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Direct leadership and supervision of 30+ protectors (field-based crews) to ensure the successful execution of company initiatives.
  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with the Area Manager and General Manager to manage and execute company initiatives, driving continuous improvement in all functional areas of the business.
  • Field and Office Responsibilities: Maintain a balance between field (80%) and office (20%) responsibilities, ensuring safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention standards are met.
  • Safety and Quality: Protect the company's team members, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents through the enforcement of safe work practices.
  • Team Development: Coach, motivate, and develop assigned teams of protectors, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop relationships with new and existing customers to achieve goals and new business opportunities.
  • Job Site Inspections: Perform job site and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, meet with clients, and work in the field with the team as needed.
  • Customer Service: Address customer service issues promptly and efficiently, providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Employee Support: Assist in preparing daily schedules, monitor daily employee issues, and facilitate teambuilding efforts and regular communications with team members.
  • Training and Development: Engage and support the training of new and current employees to reduce turnover, promote efficiency, and reduce labor costs.
  • Certifications and Expertise: Obtain ATSSA and state-specific certifications, becoming a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging.
Requirements
  • Education: 4-year degree in a business-related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 1-2 years of supervisor experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members, and intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, customer relationship management systems).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving, with regular exposure to all weather conditions.
