About the Role

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team as Associate General Counsel - Energy Infrastructure Projects. This role will be responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of energy infrastructure projects, including acquisitions, development, and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the legal components of energy infrastructure projects, including acquisitions, development, and operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts related to these projects, including power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, transmission agreements, EPC agreements, and other contracts related to project development.
  • Lead all legal efforts related to the financing of energy infrastructure projects, including project financings and corporate financings.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant energy regulations, including federal, state, and local laws.
  • Provide guidance on obtaining regulatory approvals, permits, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including corporate development, operations, asset management, and finance teams, to align legal strategies with business goals and project timelines.
  • Manage and oversee external counsel on energy infrastructure projects and financing transactions.
About You

We are looking for an experienced attorney with a strong background in energy law and a proven track record of success in negotiating complex contracts and managing legal projects. The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 6 years of experience as an attorney with a strong focus on energy infrastructure development projects.
  • Experience negotiating power purchase agreements in ERCOT is highly desirable.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school and active membership in at least one state bar.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of energy infrastructure and project financing.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and financing structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts effectively.
  • Extensive experience conducting due diligence for energy infrastructure projects.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical legal advice.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
