Key Responsibilities
  • Perform energy audits and provide energy usage calculations to optimize energy efficiency throughout the plant.
  • Conduct circuit analysis and provide recommendations for critical load protection and voltage sag mitigation.
  • Validate and optimize energy systems for cost savings and reduction of energy consumption.
  • Operate and program medium voltage relays to ensure reliable and efficient system operation.
  • Prepare engineering specifications for bid invitations and evaluate bids to ensure compliance with Tesla's standards.
  • Perform short circuit studies and overcurrent coordination using Easy Power software.
  • Provide cost estimating services for electrical scope and work with trades to drive value for Tesla.
  • Evaluate quotes for ongoing maintenance activities and establish standards for installation, modification, quality control, testing, operation, inspection, and maintenance of emergency power supply systems and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Implement electrical safety programs following OSHA and NFPA 70E guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience and exceptional ability.
  • 8-10 years of direct experience in operational facilities, including semiconductor, solar, and battery industries.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interface with multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and UBC codes, as well as HAZMAT safety protocols.

Compensation

The expected compensation for this position is $125,800 - $188,700 per year, depending on level and experience.
