Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at LaBella Associates. As a key member of our Building Engineering Division, you will be responsible for developing concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings from conception to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete electrical designs, including evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering single line diagrams, electrical room/equipment layout, panel sizing, lighting, and building systems design.
  • Perform load calculations for generators, transformers, switchgear, MCC's, panel boards, VFD's, feeders, and branch circuits.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Research and prepare coordinated design options.
  • Responsible for project construction, including submittal review, construction observation, and punch lists.
  • Interact closely with mechanical, civil, structural engineers, and project architects.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform lighting calculations and arc flash studies.
  • Perform field investigations to document existing conditions.
  • Communicate with manufacturers and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs.
  • Review drawings and research electrical and safety code issues to comply with national, city, state, and county regulations.

Requirements

  • A passion for building systems and a desire to become a respected technical expert.
  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree in electrical engineering or a related field required.
  • EIT certification is a plus.
  • On path towards New York PE license preferred, not required.
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience involving building systems projects.
  • Building system design experience focused on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and telecommunications.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MS Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with electrical modeling programs, including lighting software AGi32 and power software SKM.
  • Familiarity with Arc-Flash Evaluation.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
