Electrical Systems Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at CannonDesign. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work under the direction of a licensed engineer on various projects, including new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform construction drawings and specifications of electrical engineering systems for building construction.
  • Design lighting, power distribution, communications, and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients.
  • Analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts.
  • Participate in value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical code for the application of building power distribution design and circuiting.
  • Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts.
  • Assist in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
  • Assist in gathering information to respond to RFI's and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
  • Travel as required.
  • Professional business attire required when attending client meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (Electrical Systems focus) from an ABET accredited program required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
  • Current PE in the United States preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit) required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $61,560.00 to $76,950.00 annually. We offer a full benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending account options, and voluntary insurances. We also have paid time off, flex-time summer hours, remote work options, and a 401k plan.
