About the Role

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our team in Buffalo, NY. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work under the direction of a licensed engineer on various projects, including new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform construction drawings and specifications for electrical engineering systems, including lighting, power distribution, communications, and telecommunication systems.
  • Design and analyze electrical systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems.
  • Research and respond to design issues, and participate in value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical code for building power distribution design and circuiting, and recommend improvements to quality, coordination, and production efforts.
  • Assist in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals, and gather information to respond to RFI's and review of change orders.
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, and travel as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (Electrical Systems focus) from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience, with current PE in the United States preferred.
  • LEED accreditation and experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit) are also preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
