Industrial Mechanic

PurposeEnergy LLC is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team at our anaerobic digestion facilities in western Vermont. As an Industrial Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair of equipment at our facilities, ensuring the efficient operation of our biogas generation and wastewater treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and perform work on plant and equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, piping, racks, and supports, controls, instruments, control panels, and low-voltage wiring, heat exchangers, glycol loops, CIP flushing, biogas fueled generators, and oil changes.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot problems associated with equipment, electrical, and mechanical systems, and diagnose equipment malfunctions to make required repairs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate with various personnel, including plant operators, outside vendors, and managers, to ensure effective working relationships and maintain permit requirements.
- Logistics: Log and schedule all work in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and contribute to team efforts to maintain permit requirements and assist wherever necessary.
- Experience: 5 years of relevant construction and/or industrial maintenance experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of pipefitting, welding, and elementary mechanics, as well as the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
- Skill: Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, PIDs, maintenance manuals, and manager directives, and skill in the use of tools and equipment required by the work.
- Education: Valid driver's license required.
- Work Environment: Indoors and outdoors throughout the year, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 75 lbs., working overhead, on the ground, on ladders, on tanks, in pits.
- Physical Demands: Employee should have their own basic hand and cordless work tools, and be able to perform tasks similar to industrial construction tasks.
- Frequency: Up to one day a week in the regional office, 4-5 days per week traveling to area facilities.
- Distance: Travel to facilities in western Vermont, approximately 5 miles apart, and to a farm digester in Highgate, VT, and Middlebury, VT location coming online in early spring.
- Salary: $25 - $35 / hr. depending on relevant experience.
